Work to begin the grading and initial tree planting for the park is scheduled to begin middle of June 2011. | ||||||

| It is the goal of the Commerce Sports Authority to create a tourist attraction for both Mickey Mantle, and baseball fans that will serve as an educational and an inspirational experience, and to create the opportunity for the great game of baseball and the legend of "The Commerce Comet" to live on in the lives of future generations | ||||||
